SECONDARY CONTACT
by Lucas Varron

A father checks his child’s school records and finds a name he doesn’t recognize.

No explanation.
No error.
Just procedure.

When he asks to have it removed, he discovers the name isn’t a mistake — it’s a safeguard. One embedded years earlier, protected by legacy rules, administrative language, and systems that don’t require consent to operate.

As quiet reviews begin and officials speak in terms of “continuity” and “failure,” it becomes clear the real risk isn’t the stranger listed on the form.

It’s the assumption that systems know better than people — and will act accordingly.

SECONDARY CONTACT is a tense, unsettling procedural thriller about institutional power, risk mitigation, and how ordinary systems quietly override personal authority when no one is watching.

There are no conspiracies here.
Only process.
