Just Seconds Behind

Just Seconds Behind is a reflective and quietly humorous look at the moments that shape a person both on and off the trail. Through a blend of running stories, personal memories, and honest internal commentary, the narrator explores what it means to live just a few seconds behind the version of yourself you're trying to reach. The book uses the rhythm of trail running as a backdrop for a deeper examination of timing, identity, and the subtle ways people grow.

Each chapter captures the tension between effort and hesitation, progress and doubt, motion and reflection. What begins as a simple account of running becomes a broader exploration of becoming-how small delays, missed steps, and near-moments reveal the truth of who we are. The narrator's voice is grounded, relatable, and lightly nostalgic, offering insight without judgment and humor without distraction.

Just Seconds Behind presents an honest portrait of someone learning to trust their own pace. It speaks to anyone who has ever felt close to change but not quite there, reminding readers that growth often happens in the space between the steps. This is a story about movement, memory, and the quiet realization that being "just seconds behind" is not failure-it's part of becoming who you are.
