My Secret Place: Living with AIDS & Addiction - A Man Who Gave Up Homosexuality for God

A secret homosexual lifestyle left him dying of AIDS. But a miracle came when he fixed his eyes on God. As a preacher's son at Jerry Falwell's conservative Liberty University, Jonathan Ervin wanted to impact lives. A talented singer, he looked poised for a career in Christian music, but that never happened. That's because he started to live a lifestyle God wouldn't honor - in a very secret place. But in 2007, in front of thousands, he confessed to homosexuality and an AIDS diagnosis. He also testified to a miracle. With his numbers at critical levels, years went by, but he remained in extraordinary health. Doctors called him "a walking miracle." Leaving his old lifestyle behind, he was singing praises once again - to a God who renovates lives. "This book is a powerful, open and honest account of one man's journey to the saving light of God's sovereign and redemptive love. It is a must read for anyone who's ever questioned the deep, intimate love of our Father that reaches far beyond our secret sins." Lynda Tait Randle, Gospel Music Recording Artist As fellow students at Liberty University years ago, I remember Jonathan as someone who always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he encountered. That genuine joy and love for people has endured in his life to this day despite circumstances that would have made most people bitter. Mitzi Bible has done a superb job of revealing Christ as the source of Jonathan's positive outlook in the face of incredible adversity. Jonathan's story will be sure to bring you encouragement and inspiration." Jerry Falwell, Jr., Chancellor and President, Liberty University "If ever a story needed to be told, this one does. Jonathan's frank and fearless testimony will serve to offer hope to those struggling with this sin and understanding for the rest of us." Dr. H. L. Willmington, Dean, Willmington School of the Bible, Liberty University
