The Secret Rescuers: The Storm Dragon

Sophy is a maid at the Royal castle in a magical kingdom. When a small dragon crash-lands in the orchard, not only can she understand it, but she knows she must return it to its family. A bad-hearted noble, Sir Fitzroy, wants to destroy all magical creatures in the kingdom and will stop at nothing to do so. Sophy must keep the little creature safe from him and his band of men, and pass on the magical challenge to other girls in other parts of the kingdom. She does this by flying to a new adventure on the back of Windrunner, a dragon who helps her after she returns the baby to its family, and finding another girl to help her with the second secret animal rescue!

Paula Harrison (Author) Paula Harrison is the author of the Red Moon Rising trilogy, The Rescue Princesses series and the Secret Rescuers series. She wanted to be a writer from a young age but spent many happy years being a primary school teacher first. She finds inspiration in lots of things from cloud shapes to snippets of conversation. She loves sandy beaches and eating popcorn. She lives with her husband and children in Buckinghamshire, which is nowhere near the sea. Whenever possible, she packs her family into the car and journeys far and wide to find a sandy beach where she can paddle in the waves. Sophy Williams (Illustrator) Sophy Williams is an award-winning illustrator with twenty-five years experience illustrating children's books. While still studying, she twice won prizes in the Readers Digest Young Illustrator's competition and was runner up for the Mother Goose Award for her first picture book. She spent some of her childhood in exotic locations such as Singapore, Hong Kong and the Middle East and often finds her illustrations being influenced by these places. Her pictures are filled with atmosphere and drama created with soft pastels. She now lives by the Kennet and Avon canal in Bradford on Avon with her husband, author/illustrator MP Robertson, their two lanky teenage sons and a mischievous grey cat called Hamish. When not illustrating she sings and performs in a choir, grows fruit and veg on her allotment and drinks lots coffee with her friends.
