Synopsis
My intent of this ebook is to introduce you to the fascinating hobby of fly fishing. It is you against nature – trying to out fool one of the smartest fish on earth. So you go through the chapters, you will see that it follows an orderly step-by-step pattern. In other words, it will take you from selecting equipment all the way to cleaning trout. Pay particular attention to the three chapters on: • reading a stream • matching the hatch • and how to fish each of the types of flies. Those three chapters are the heart of fly fishing after you have bought your equipment and learned how to cast – two other chapters in this ebook. Then finally we wrap it up by discussing both sides of the catch and release issue – and when it makes sense to keep trout regardless of which side you are on. If you choose to release your trout, we show how to properly revive them before release. If you choose to keep them, we show you how to clean and cook them. I hope you enjoy reading it as well as learn the fascinating “sport of kings” as it was called in England. Now, let’s roll up our sleeves and get started!
About the Author
I grew up in Central Minnesota, where my parents own and operated a fishing resort. Once out of high school I tried a couple of semesters of college, only to quit halfway through the Spring term; I decided at that time that college wasn't for me. Then I decided to follow my father's previous occupation as an auto mechanic. I graduated from a two-year of vocational training course and worked as a mechanic. While in vocational training, I decided to join the National Guard where I eventually ended up working full-time for 32 years. So how does all of this relate to writing? In one of my leadership schools, the instructor, who was an English teacher at a juvenile detention center, presented writing to me in a whole new way - a way that started to develop my interest in working with words. Fast forward about 40 years and I now have over 25 books listed on Amazon for Kindle. All of my books with the exception of one children's book (One, Two, Three, Four . . . Counting is Fun at the Grocery Store) are non-fiction in various fields, such as: * Self-Publishing * Digital Photography * Travel *Outdoor and Recreation Besides my own writing, I also ghostwrite ebooks, reports, articles, blogs and do Kindle conversions for my clients. Oh . . . did I mention that I went back to college in 1987 and graduated 7 years later? Today my wife and I live in Gold Canyon, AZ, where you'll find me happily sitting in my office typing away on my laptop as I work on my next book or ghostwriting project . . . that is if we are not traveling on a cruise ship - our new-found mode of travel.
