This subtle and powerful book was written by the famous martial arts historian and teacher Robert W. Smith. Smith was reputably the first Western student of Professor Cheng Man-Ch'ing and is the author of numerous other books on Chinese martial arts including some of the first books on Chinese martial arts written in English (search the name for details). As several reviewers have pointed out this text is a historical gem (if you have the necessary insight). This first edition is scarce indeed.
