The Secrets Of The Self

A visionary exploration of spiritual awakening presenting a powerful philosophy of inner strength, freedom, and the unfolding of the human soul.

Written in the Persian language, this philosophical work expresses Muhammad Iqbal's vision of the development of the Self as the central task of human life. The individual is not portrayed as a passive being shaped by circumstance, but as a creative personality called to cultivate inner strength through discipline, action, and insight. In Iqbal's thought, the awakening of the Self leads not to withdrawal from the world but to a deeper and more meaningful participation in human life.

Drawing on Islamic spirituality, Sufi inspiration, and philosophical reflection, Iqbal explores the relationship between the human soul and the divine, affirming the dignity and creative potential of every individual. His writing combines intellectual depth with visionary intensity and expresses a philosophy of personal growth that speaks across religious and cultural boundaries.

First published in 1915, this text established Iqbal as one of the major spiritual voices of the modern Islamic world. It remains a profound meditation on human destiny and the possibilities of the awakened Self, continuing to inspire readers seeking meaning, strength, and personal transformation.
