Synopsis
A childs smile represents the joy of learning from the world around them and the endless opportunities the future holds. I see a future of unlimited potential and many opportunities to spread their wings and change the world. In this fast paced and unpredictable world, protecting that smile is a responsibility that cannot be taken lightly. A parent, grandparent, Godparent, aunt or uncle, or any responsible child caregiver must understand the inherent risks that are present in our everyday routines. Being a parent of two high energy boys myself, I know and understand how busy these everyday routines can be. But I also know that parents will do anything for their children and make protecting them the highest priority in their life. I applaud parents and caregivers for their dedication and commitment in dealing with the daily grind that being responsible for a child demands and I offer this book to assist them. In this book, I use scenarios (based on real life incidences) to describe everyday threats and to identify proactive steps for families that will mitigate the risk of violence and crime against family members. I firmly believe if you are aware of your surroundings and follow basic principles and methods, you can deter criminals from invading your personal life. I want all parents to think proactively about their family security and to be aware of things that just don t look right. I want parents to teach their children how to be aware of their surroundings and what to look out for. Because at the end of the day when you have time to reflect about life, each one of us understands that our highest priority is to our children and our most important mission is Securing Smiles.
