About the Author
Bob Deatherage spent over 22 Years in the US military. In 1979 he joined the US Marine Corps working for the Naval Security Group as a Signals intelligence, Electronic Warfare specialist. He left the service for several years, joining the US Army in 1986 working in the intelligence field. In 1987 he was assigned to the 1st Special Forces Group Military Intelligence Company and after serving 2 years as a Special Operations Team Chief, he was selected for attendance to the Special Forces qualification course where he earned his Special Forces tab. He then continued to work in 1st Special Forces Group located at Ft. Lewis, WA as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant, working in Southeast Asia. During this time he was selected to work in an other assignments in Washington, DC area. He left that assignment in 1996 and went to 7th Special Forces Group, located at Ft. Bragg, NC where he spent his first year training Mexican Police special narcotics unit, then had multiple missions to South America on various assignments. He spent his last four years with the 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group, his first yeas as an Operations NCO for ASOT, SERE and ATD while also working as a instructor for one year on the Antiterrorism Training Detachment and the last two years as the Non-commissioned Officer in Charge, before retiring and returning to his home in Saint Joseph, MO. Since retirement he as worked as a Security Manager for an international construction firm in Iraq, working first in Mozul, then in Baghdad, the biap and Camp Victory before leaving in 2006. Since then he has conducted training seminars for military special operations units and civilian law enforcement organizations throughout the United States on a wide variety of subjects in antiterrorism, security and PSD operations for KI International and Global One Resource Group. Bob has a Masters in Business and Organizational Security Management and is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security.
