Security Solutions for Aws: Understanding Network Security and Performance Monitoring for Amazon Web Services

Your guide to understanding network security and performance monitoring for Amazon Web Services

AWS has radically changed IT and the changes are mostly beneficial. But there are some hidden areas that do require special care, and you will find those addressed in this book.

• Begin by learning about the five pitfalls of AWS. From performance issues and fault lines, to AWS database issues and disparities. It pays to be aware of these before moving your business to the cloud, even if it is the inventor of cloud computing.

• Once you understand the pitfalls, it’s time to discover the seven secrets of AWS security. In today’s high-stakes online computing environments, organizations are one breach away from an outage, or worse. Security Solutions for AWS explains what you need to know—and do—before you “throw the switch.”

• The success of AWS stems from its ability to supplement existing data center computing resources. And like any resource, it must be monitored. But how to manage that in a networked environment? Chapter 3 explains the Argent solution and why it is unique in its ability to monitor AWS alongside native monitoring of Windows and Linux applications.

What makes AWS so effective is that it was created by the people truly on the front line of delivering performance. Managing that performance, in the context of the performance of the broader data center, is the focus of Security Solutions for AWS.
