Seeds in a Time Capsule

Seeds in a Time Capsule is a powerful bilingual collection of literary fiction and philosophical storytelling that explores identity, memory, culture, and the passage of time across languages and generations.

Through richly layered narratives and poetic prose presented in both English and Spanish, Lane Carnes invites readers into a world where reality and imagination blur-where history, philosophy, and human experience intersect. From the depths of the Amazon rainforest to the intellectual corridors of Europe and Latin America, each story examines universal questions: What is truth? What defines identity? How do culture, language, and memory shape who we become?

At the heart of this collection lies a deep exploration of Latin American history, colonial legacy, and the tension between tradition and transformation. Characters grapple with race, philosophy, faith, and the meaning of existence, while vivid imagery and symbolic storytelling create an immersive, thought-provoking experience.

Perfect for readers who enjoy literary fiction, philosophical narratives, and bilingual works, Seeds in a Time Capsule is both a journey through the human condition and a reflection on the timeless search for meaning.

Lane Carnes is the author of two books of bilingual poetry: The La Vida Existencial and Internas Voces and Ensimismamiento, a novella. He grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was inspired to write by his father, Nat Carnes, who worked as a journalist in Puerto Rico and is the author of several political-historical Latin American novels: Chile-New York: The Eleventh of September, San Juan, Trujillo: The Chief, and others.
