The Seeing Scroll

A week after her grandfather died, he sent her a key.

When police exhumed her grandfather’s coffin, 12-year-old Gia Lance already knew that he wasn’t in it. But the key surely meant that there was something he wanted her to find? Or know? Or hide?

With the help of her best friend, Gia soon discovers an ancient scroll which momentarily throws them back in time, revealing snippets of dark and dangerous secrets… that some people would do anything to protect.

Trapped between the ghosts of her grandfather’s past and the perilous reality of their present, Gia turns to the scroll to find the truth. But is it wise to trust in the tales of an enchanted parchment? Especially one that carries a dreadful curse.

“Stray too long where you don’t belong and the world you’re from could be forever gone.”

I live with my awesome husband and phenomenal daughter. We share our space with two formidable, but kind souled, Staffordshire terriers - my dog of choice. But honestly, anything that let's me hug it, surely has a kind soul. When I'm not writing, I'm probably strolling with my furry friends through the local farmer's vineyards or dawdling along the beach. I can often be found watching an active slipway. I'm also blessed with a pair of African Grey parrots who love to jabber about what I said earlier. My favourite authors while growing up were Enid Blyton, and Carolyn Keene. What bliss it was, solving those mysteries. And when I got my hands on Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, followed shortly by The Water Babies, a love of fantasy was born. I got my first writing job from a third-grade teacher - 100 lines of I must not eat in class.
