([London: Printed by J. Nichols; for J. Dodsley, 1780]) 556 pp. Volume 6 (of 12) only, lacking two preliminary leaves (table of contents and volume title page). (180 x 104 mm.) Second Edition. Modern retrospective calf, raised bands, red morocco label with gilt lettering. With two title vignettes. Spine slightly sunned, otherwise fine; contents with scattered small stains, toning, and creases, one leaf with marginal repair, last three leaves with more noticeable stains and soiling. The vast majority of leaves quite clean, and a very good copy overall. An attractively bound collection of plays by two Elizabethan and Jacobean playwrights. This is Volume VI from the 12 volume anthology "A Select Collection of Old Plays," originally compiled and published by Robert Dodsley in 1744. This copy appears to be from the second edition published in 1780, and includes the following works: The Roaring Girle: or, Moll Cut-Purse The Widow's Tears The White Devil: Or, Vittoria Corombona The Hog Hath Lost His Pearl The Four Prentices of London (1051).…
