Tipu allied with the French in his battles against the British and other regional powers. He achieved significant victories against the British in the Second Anglo-Mysore War, signing the Treaty of Mangalore in 1784. He's renowned for deploying rockets in warfare during the Anglo-Mysore Wars. About The Translator: William Kirkpatrick (1754-1812) was an East India Company officer in Colonial India. He served as a diplomat and orientalist during the Company rule. Kirkpatrick held various military and diplomatic positions, including Persian interpreter and resident with the Nizam of Hyderabad. He played a role in mediating the Nepal-Tibet dispute and participated in the partition of Mysore after the fall of Seringapatam.
