The book was originally published in 1880 and includes introductions, notes, and appendices to provide context and analysis for the poems. Catullus was known for his love poetry, but also wrote about politics, society, and everyday life in ancient Rome. This book includes a selection of his most famous and influential works, such as ""Odi et Amo"" (""I Hate and I Love"") and ""Carmen 101"" (""Multas per gentes""). The introductions and notes provide historical and literary background information, while the appendices include additional poems and translations. Overall, ""Select Poems of Catullus"" is a valuable resource for those interested in ancient Roman literature and poetry. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
