NY: 1891. Good copy in original brown cloth binding, with geometric frieze and gilt titling on board and spine. Pages are evenly tanned. Minor front hinge repair. Former owner name in ink and bookstore stamp on front endpaper. A bright, handsome copy that fits well the hand. Both a relic and source of revival of a 19th and early 20th century practice that crossed cultural, educational, and theatrical boundaries -- the public reading of dramatic poetry. Full of referents to engage curiosity and historic research. Available in reprints only.
