John Reeves and Malcolm Simon combine more than 50 years of soccer coaching expertise in their newest coach's guide, Select Soccer Drills. Two of America's top coaches, Reeves and Simon are the editors of two previous Leisure Press soccer books, Coaches Collection of Soccer Drills and The Soccer Games Book.
John Reeves has been coaching soccer since 1961 at both the youth and collegiate levels. Currently the director of the Division of Physical Education and Athletics for the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Reeves is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and is also past-president of the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America. He earned his doctoral degree in 1983 from Columbia University.
Malcolm Simon is the director of physical education and athletics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has coached soccer, basketball, tennis, and volleyball in college, camp, and YMCA settings since 1954. He coached the 1960 NAIA national champions and the 1961 runners-up. Sixteen of his players have been named All-Americans, and five have gone on to play professional soccer nationally and internationally, including Hernan "Chico" Borja. Simon is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
