Paperback in Good Condition. Third Printing, 1964. Edited by Charles T. Davis. White and black wraps, 8vo. xxxi+238 pages, plus publisher's list. Introduction, Chronology, Bibliography and Textual Note. Modern American poetry may have begun with Edwin Artlington Robinson who in 1869 in Maine. He was one of the most prolific poets in the early 20th century. His Collected Poems (1921) won the first Pulitzer Prize ever awarded to poetry. His first published volumes, "The Torrent and The Night Before" (1896) and "The Children of The Night )1897) are reprinted in their entirety in this book.The book is clean, worn, slight edge-wear, solid binding, pages clean, toned, mores so on edges. Last twenty or so pages are wrinkled on upper edge. 1964, Holt, Rinehart and Winston, New York.
