His students included Benjamin Britten, who championed his teacher's music and paid tribute to him in an internationally renowned orchestral work, Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge. Simon Watterton is a regular recitalist at venues across the UK. Past appearances include performances at St. Martin's In-the-Fields, Wigmore Hall, St. John's Smith Square, and Kettle's Yard, amongst others. Simon is the winner of many UK awards and piano competitions and was featured as a Rising Star in the March/April 2009 issue of International Piano Quarterly magazine. He teaches piano and chamber music throughout Europe and performs frequently. Future concerts will take him to China, Ireland, and Sweden.
