About this Item

This is a Southern Pacific promotional booklet with 18 b&w postcards illustrating views along the route between New Orleans and El Paso. Each card depicts a different scene and has the usual "Post Card" format on the verso with a space for a 1 cent stamp. The 18 views are all contained in a brown stiff paper cover with the title printed on the front in black. There is no indication of the date, but the once cent rate was in effect from 1872 - 1917, and the "new Morgan City bridge" pictured on a postcard was built in 1908. Probably the Brown News Co. of Kansas City, MO. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked booklet with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no writing on any of the postards. It is a typical post card size: 3.75" x 6" ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 18 pages.
