About this Item
For the Edward Gorey completist, this is another Anchor mass market paperback for which he did the typography (NOT the cover illustration; this was done by the author, designed by Diana Klemin). The book itself is by one of London's most preeminent theater critics of the early 20th century, where he succeeded George Bernard Shaw as critic for the "Saturday Review." In 346 pages with Index in rear. Orig. published in 1930, this is the First Anchor edition (A226) from 1960. Condition is VG: completely clean inside with light external surface soiling, darkened spine, slight rubbing to extremities all around. Binding secure, but with a decided rightward lean. Pages creamy white with a hint of tanning around edges; offsetting from a stray receipt to pages 128-129. Nicely protected in its Free mylar collector bag! Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. Seller Inventory # 022622
