La concezione della lingua come sistema � un risultato recente, le cui basi sono state gettate da F. de Saussure. Negli studi della scuola teorico-linguistica di Voronezh viene sviluppato un approccio di campo al sistema linguistico e viene formulata la concezione dell'unit� della lessica e della fraseologia nella composizione del sistema lessicale, il che permette di parlare di un sistema lessico-fraseologico unico della lingua, in cui sono rappresentati gruppi lessicali di diverso tipo. Nel lavoro sono stati utilizzati il metodo descrittivo, i metodi di descrizione sememica e semica, il metodo di generalizzazione delle definizioni lessicali, i metodi psicolinguistici e il metodo di analisi comunicativo-semantica. Sono stati studiati i lessemi e i sememi registrati nei dizionari della lingua russa, a partire dal dizionario di V.I. Dal. In esso sono presenti unit� del campo studiato contrassegnate come "obsolete", il che consente di studiare la composizione del campo e le tendenze del suo sviluppo in modo pi� approfondito rispetto al XIX secolo. Alcune di queste unit� e significati obsoleti si trovano nei romanzi storici. Nel lavoro vengono registrati e descritti i cambiamenti nella composizione delle unit� del campo e nei significati di queste unit� nel corso degli ultimi due secoli.
