Routledge's Edition. 379 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth with leather title label to spine. Black and white frontis depicts Willoughby, Marianne Dashwood and a large dog. Book has been rebound. Deckled edged text block with upper edge gilt. Red and white endbands. Publisher in full "George Routledge and Sons, Broadway, Ludgate Hill, Glasgow and New York", thus perhaps printed late 1880s. 'Routledge's Edition' stated on reverse of title page, with list of Austen's other works. Pages lightly tanned at edges, with light foxing. Hinges cracked with exposed netting, otherwise tightly bound. Red ribbon marker is attached, but creased and mildly frayed. A few small edge tears to a few pages; some pages slightly untidily cut. Boards have slight shelf wear with bumping to corners. A few liquid droplet marks. Head of spine notably crushed and frayed; considerable tanning to spine. Large chips, rubbing and mild loss to spine label. Gilt is worn.
