This book is not intended to diagnose, prevent or cure children with sensory issues, but to give parents a starting point in recognizing signs and symptoms. This book is also intended to be a source of information that may be beneficial in making a difference in the lives of children with sensory issues and challenges. This book provides tips, tools and tidbits for various topics with helpful hints in overcoming sensory challenegs. Paula L. Simpson is an experienced occupational therapist with specialized training in the pediatric and geriatric population. She has a combined holistic and nurturing approach to help children and adults achieve optimal functional independence and achieve developmental milestones within the home, school, outpatient, hospital and skilled nursing settings.
Paula is skilled in a variety of pediatric/geriatric evaluation tools and treatment approaches. Paula is a Certified ABT (Advanced Brain Technology) provider from The Listening Program .
Paula received her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Chicago State University. In addition Paula also received her Master's Degree in Health Administration from University of Phoenix. Her expertise in pediatric/geriatrics in OT also include extensive consulting and mentoring in the field of occupational therapy.
