Sentiment is a novel written by Vincent O'Sullivan, first published in 1917. The story revolves around the life of a young woman named Mary, who is caught in a love triangle between two men - her childhood friend, George, and the dashing, but troubled, artist, Paul. As Mary navigates the complexities of her relationships with both men, she must also contend with the expectations of society and the limitations placed on women in the early 20th century. The novel explores themes of love, desire, social norms, and the struggle for self-expression. O'Sullivan's writing style is known for its vivid descriptions and emotional depth, and Sentiment is no exception. The book offers a glimpse into the world of the upper-class in early 20th century New Zealand, and the challenges faced by women in that society.Overall, Sentiment is a poignant and thought-provoking novel that delves into the complexities of human relationships and the societal pressures that shape them. It remains a classic work of New Zealand literature, and a must-read for fans of historical fiction and romance. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
