A Sentimental Journey Romance Collection: 9 Love Stories from the Memorable 1940s

Journey back to the great decade of the 1940s through nine romances that ignite despite the challenges and dangers of a world war. Couples meet under unique circumstances—during the bombing of London, at military outposts, through covert operations to save children, as well as on the home front—and the bond of love grows through shared ideals and faith.

Dianna Crawford is a California native. She has been published since the early 1990s and writes full-time. Her first inspirational novel was the premier of a six-book series for Tyndale that she coauthored with Sally Laity. Dianna is married and has four daughters and seven grandkids.

Joan and her husband Lee live on Route 66 in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks. They have two married daughters and six grandchildren whose ages range from 4 to 14 so life can become delightfully hectic at times. After spending over half her life on the West Coast, Joan loves being a Midwest transplant where she enjoys gardens and country living. Bible study and writing are at the top of her love-to-do list along with reading anything anytime anywhere but especially when curled up by a crackling fire on a snowy winter day. Her love of history has led her to compile her families’ histories, one of her lines going back to 1482 in Norway and her husband’s to an ancestor who was with George Washington’s troops at Valley Forge. She’s currently recording her own family’s story and loves seeing how God has been at work blessing their lives.

Cathy Marie Hake is a Southern California native. She met her two loves at church: Jesus and her husband, Christopher. An RN, she loved working in oncology as well as teaching Lamaze. Health issues forced her to retire, but God opened new possibilities with writing. Since their children have moved out and are married, Cathy and Chris dote on dogs they rescue from a local shelter. A sentimental pack rat, Cathy enjoys scrapbooking and collecting antiques. “I’m easily distracted during prayer, so I devote certain tasks and chores to specific requests or persons so I can keep faithful in my prayer life.” Since her first book in 2000, she’s been on multiple bestseller and readers’ favorite lists.

KELLY EILEEN HAKE lives in LA with the kitten she and her then-boyfriend, Jeff, rescued from a very tall tree. Semi, whose white fur, black spot between his ears, and black tail makes him a walking semicolon, is the grammar cat Kelly never knew she needed. She’s decided the cat and the boyfriend are both keepers and is currently planning a wedding with her new fiancé!

Sally considers it a joy to know that the Lord can touch other hearts through her stories. She has written both historical and contemporary novels, including a co-authored series for Tyndale House and another for Barbour Publishing, nine Heartsong Romances, and twelve Barbour novellas. Her favorite pastimes include quilting for her church’s Prayer Quilt Ministry and scrapbooking. She makes her home in the beautiful Tehachapi Mountains of southern California with her husband of over fifty years and enjoys being a grandma and great-grandma.
