Seven folding plates in Volume 1. Edges of folding plates show some wear, as they extend beyond the fore-edge in several cases, but plates are intact and the lines remain crisp and vivid. In custom-made green morocco case, in the form of two volumes. Gilt decorative elements and "London 1793" on the Vol 1 side, "London 1792" on the Vol 2 side. Uncommon set, with one volume held at each the Yale Center for British Art, and the Morgan Library and Museum. Builds on the infamous, comical adventures of the Baron, in a narrative loosely based on Butler's 1790 travels to Africa.
