Sergey Zalygin was a Soviet writer / environmentalist. He was the author of novels and stories, as well as being an editor of the influential literary magazine "Novy Mir". Zalygin was the first non-Communist Party person to hold the post. Zalygin's writing is little known to English readers, but at least one novel has been translated into English: "The South American Variant" ("Iuzhno-Amerikansky Variant). Zalygin was publicly critical of industrial projects he felt were environmentally unsound. Presented here is a a book published in Moscow in 1970 by Soviet Writers titled " Sergey Zalygin : Interview With Myself ". PHYSICAL DETAILS : State-Published hardcover; 238 pages; approximately 5" x 6 1/2", linen-covered boards with title lettered in black on spine, and lettered in gilt against a black panel on front board. A simple gilt border encloses this.; photo-pictorial dust-jacket has a handsome portrait of Sergey Zalygin. We have provided a view of the Table of Contents, and the publisher's data page. ************************************************** CONDITION . - BOOK: VERY GOOD ; DUST - JACKET : VERY GOOD - This is a previously owned copy which is clean and serviceable, with the following imperfections noted: EXTERIOR : Weathering and foxing about the edges (most noticeable along the fore-edges), else clean. / BINDING : The book has obviously been read, and thus the text-block is not so tight as when published. / INTERIOR : A bit of creasing to the front end-papers, as well as some wear to edges, which includes finger smudging. There is a touch of toning to front and rear end-papers, and a bit of light surface rumple to front. A previous owner's commercially produced bookplate is affixed to the front paste-down. the text is clean and unmarked throughout. / DUST - JACKET : Surface rub and general wear, including creasing and chipping to edges . Small loss to head of spine panel . and spine panel is quite faded. The whole is protected by an archival mylar cover. Seller Inventory # 1328
