Vintage study, 1927 & 1928. A Verbatim Report of a Series of Studies of the Book of Daniel by Pastor James MacFarlane of Victoria Avenue Gospel Church, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Fifteen sessions are recorded covering all twelve books of the book of Daniel from Friday, October 7, 1927 through Friday, February 3, 1928. Bound by three staples. Typed on a typewriter and likely reproduced on an early copy machine such as a Reflex, American Manicopy Type Distributing Machine, or a Photostat Copy Machine, all popular in the 1920s. Printed on the recto (right) page, only. Paginated separately according to each week's session. This copy is from the library of Dr. James A. Stewart, whose name is written in on the front flyleaf. Stewart was a prominent Scottish fundamentalist evangelist who also wrote books, started a publishing company and directed the Russian Bible Society. Stewart was the first preacher from the West to go behind the Iron Curtain after World War II. In 1970 there was a fire in his home, yet this copy miraculously escaped the flames unscathed. There is no smoke odor. Both front and back covers are missing. Copy shows overall wear with annotation and underlining. Leaves have toned yet text is still wonderfully legible. The name Corinna Violet Chadwick, Hamilton, presumably an attendee of the series lectures, is written on the front flyleaf under Dr. Stewart's name. Good condition only. A delightful copy.
