Navy blue cloth covers with gold lettering and bands on the spine and gold lettering on the front cover. All are clean and unmarked. Covers exhibit light wear on corners and spine ends. Light shelf wear and soiling to covers. Text is yellowed due to age. Otherwise unmarked. Hinges are tight. Gift inscription to previous owner on the title page signed by Roseva L. Jenness. In the upper margin of page 78 there is writing stating 'The U.S. Navy refused permission for Burt to distribute these books because this verse criticized the Navy in 1918. Permission was granted to Roseva in 1972" The verse is titled The Burning of the Nipsic. All books are individually examined and described. Never ex-lib unless stated.
