The Service of Wolves: 3 (Vince Carver)

Vince Carver is persona non grata.

As an asset, he's difficult to control. As an operator, he has no equal. Carver may be on the outs with the CIA, but the feds recognize a value proposition when they see one. Sooner or later, his services are always in demand.

The son of a Mexican congressman is kidnapped by narcos.

A newly hobbled DEA with diminished operational resources needs a solution. With Delta Force experience in hostage rescue and no official government ties, they tap Carver for the mission in Tijuana. But the cartels are only half the threat.

If you go out with wolves, they'll teach you to howl.

Working for a politician has benefits, but in a city notorious for corruption, the wrong connections can get you killed. Gun-wielding narcos and militarized special police come out in force, but the biggest danger lurks in the depths of an enduring family rivalry.

The Service of Wolves by Matt Sloane is a powerhouse mystery of love and betrayal. From a seedy Tijuana nightclub to the private armies and hidden quarters of Mexico's elite, experience a descent straight to the underbelly of the human condition.
