The Seven Gates: The Descent

She abandoned heaven. She abandoned earth. She descended to the underworld.

At the first gate they took her crown. At the second, her earrings. At the third, the necklace. The fourth, the armor over her heart. At the fifth, the practice of not-knowing. At the sixth, the office itself. At the seventh gate she gave them the robe and walked through wearing nothing.

On the other side: her sister. Three thousand years of silence between them. Six words to begin.

Then the law did what the law required.

The Seven Gates is the story of what you find when everything is stripped away — and whether what remains is enough to survive what comes next.
