Publisher's advertisements have been discarded. Bound in half crushed morocco. A collection of poems and ballads aimed at children focusing on themes of adventure and British pride. The vast scale of British Empire is explored in relation to colonialism for a child audience. Kipling condenses themes of British power and wealth to make it accesible for children. Kipling explores themes of British imperialism and the role of colonial rule within the 19th century through a series of short ballads and poems to demonstrate the vastness of the British Empire. In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart but with slight rubbing and cracking to the joints. Slight loss to the head and tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound.
