About the Author
Steve Bell started climbing on the cliffs of Devon where he grew up. He soon progressed to the mountains, visiting the Alps in 1976, Alaska in 1980 and the Himalayas in 1981. He has since enjoyed many Alpine seasons, including winter ascents of the North Faces of the Eiger and the Matterhorn. He co-founded the trekking company Himalayan Kingdoms in 1987, which spawned his specialist mountaineering company, Jagged Globe. The first Briton to guide clients up Everest, he completed his own Seven Summits in May 1997. A veteran of numerous expeditions to the world's jagged places, Steve is an IFMGA mountain guide.
