In the tradition of Goddesses in Everywoman, Marlene Masini Rathgeb has created a fascinating handbook that uses astrology to redefine masculinity and femininity not as sexual stereotypes, but as separate and equally valuable aspects of the human personality. She reveals how a person's capacity for maleness or femaleness affects their attitudes, behaviors and potential.

The study of astrology is based on the interaction of planets and constellations and their locations at the exact moment and place of an individual's birth. Much of popular astrology is based on the location of the sun and by necessity must be very general. Each astrological sign has gender and nature qualities as well. This work looks at the interaction of the sun and the moon. Linking her analyses to Jungian psychology and gender psychology, Rathgeb ( Success Signs , 1981) examines the 16 combinations of sun/moon signs. She also explores how the signs relate to one another. The analyses acknowledge the complex interactions of gender, sexual preference, and astrological analysis. This interesting book is a good addition to popular astrology and is recommended for collections where users are interested in the subject.
