Grade 3-6-- A browsing book that features the land and peoples of New Zealand. The excellent quality, full-color photographs begin with the native Maori and their ceremony to welcome visitors. Unique geological features, such as the volcanoes; geysers; hot, bubbling mud; and glaciers next to rain forests are then presented. Land animals and sea creatures are also described. The last page has a map of the two-island nation, but there is no world map to place the country in context. Vital statistics, such as area, population, largest cities, and principal exports are provided, as well as a miniscule index. The arrangement of the lush photographs on every page suggests that the book might be used with younger audiences, but the reading level is challenging. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 1.0 LBS. For all internation orders: If you ordered an item that is oversized (can not fit in a padded priority envelope) you will receive an email message requiring extra charge. The same applies for all domestic priority orders. Hawai orders will take 21-36 days to arrive with standard shipping. If you are interested in a faster delivery choose the priority option. Orders from Alaska can't meet the current shipping speed deadline (normally it takes 3 weeks or more to ship an item from the continental USA). If a buyer from Alaska or Hawai wants the item sooner they have to choose the priority option. We might require additional shipping charges for orders shipped to Hawai or Alaska.
