Originally published in 1915 by Albert & Charles Boni, the work contained 46 poems written between 1902 between 1906. The present edition followed the second edition of 1917; along with small editorial changes, it removes "Love the Destroyer" from the collection and adds Marius de Zayas frontispiece, Don Marquis preface, and Wallace Smith s illustration. Grey paper-covered boards, illustrated title label laid down on upper board, original pictorial dustjacket. 9 1/4 x 6 1/4 in. 61, [1] pp. Frontispiece tipped on to half-title verso. Illustration by Wallace Smith with tissue guard in a spiderweb design. Old ownership inscription to front free-endpaper, J.W. Robinson Co. booklabel to rear pastedown. Good; chips and soiling to dustjacket, short closed marginal tear to p. 47/48, toned.
