Shadows of Absence: Journeys Through Loss and Resilience

In the quiet spaces of our lives, where laughter once resided and memories were made, there often comes a silence that is both profound and deeply unsettling. This silence doesn't announce its arrival; it creeps in, filling the rooms and hearts with a presence that is both palpable and invisible. It's the silence that follows the storm, the quiet that comes after the battle has been fought—not with swords and shields, but with hope, tears, and the relentless march of time against an enemy that knows no mercy: CANCER.
My name is Rae Maker, and I have lived through this silence more times than any heart should bear. I have been the one left standing, the one left to navigate the aftermath of a war that took from me not one, but three beloved companions. CANCER.
This book is for those of us who have loved deeply, fought bravely alongside those we cherish, and ultimately, faced the agony of their absence. It's for the husbands, wives, children, and friends who have stood in the shadow of cancer, feeling both its chill and the warmth of the love that refuses to fade.
