Shadows Do Not Die: A Solomon Nyx Novel (Paperback or Softback)

"The man across from Solomon Nyx was going to die in six days."

Solomon knows this the way you know when a glass is about to fall—with absolute, unwanted certainty. He sees the threads of death connected to everyone around him, dark filaments stretching toward endings he can't prevent.

After his sister Naomi is murdered under mysterious circumstances, Solomon flees Chicago for Tokyo, hoping distance might silence the whispers in the dark. Instead, his abilities amplify. The shadows respond to his presence. And something ancient has begun to take notice.

Enter a world where myths are real—and dangerous.

When operatives from a shadowy organization called the Fate-Weavers corner him in a Tokyo alley, Solomon is saved by Akari Tanaka, a woman who wields light the way he wields darkness. She introduces him to the truth: Solomon carries a myth-seed, a fragment of archetypal power passed down through generations. His particular seed connects him to Death itself.

He is becoming a Reaper.

But power always comes with a price.

The Fate-Weavers want to control him. The Prometheus Initiative wants to extract what's inside him—even if that means destroying who he is. And beneath both organizations lurks something older and more terrifying: the Dreamer, an entity that feeds on transformed consciousness and has been shaping humanity's myths since before recorded history.

To survive, Solomon must master abilities he never wanted. To find justice for Naomi, he'll have to confront secrets that powerful people have killed to protect. And to remain human, he'll need to prove that a Reaper can be something other than a monster.

Shadows Do Not Die is the first book in the Solomon Nyx series—a dark urban fantasy that blends the mythological intrigue of American Gods with the supernatural noir of The Dresden Files. Set against the neon-lit streets of Tokyo and the shadows that gather between them, it's a story about power, choice, and refusing to become what others expect you to be.

For readers who like their fantasy dark, their protagonists morally complex, and their mythology reimagined for the modern world.
