Johnny Frisina is twelve years old and determined to win his first championship title and the Webster Award. As Johnny finds out, the prestigious award and generous monetary stipend come with strings attached. As he and the rest of his team try to decide on a fair way to split the prize money, he faces his first adult problem and learns what it means to have character.

The stories that follow emphasize and expand upon the same themes as “The Webster Award.” The fears and flaws of characters are exposed as they struggle to make the right decision in difficult circumstances. In some cases, humans are the enemy. In others, natural disasters and other acts of God are more prominent. Some tales even hint at supernatural happenings and a world beyond our own. Each story, despite different genres and settings, shows readers something new about human nature.

About the Author

Colin Knapp received his degree in English from the US Naval Academy. He spent ten years as an officer in the Navy and served in the Persian Gulf War.

After his time in the military, Knapp lived in Chicago, Illinois, and Los Angeles, California, where he pursued screenwriting and acting. Now, he is turning his creative talents toward fiction. He and his family live in Michigan.
