Shake It Up

I am an acquired taste. But so is excellence. In the world of urban education, there is no shortage of excuses. We blame the zip code, the poverty, the trauma, and the lack of funding. Meanwhile, children are losing. In Shake It Up: The Bennett Blueprint for School Turnaround, Staci Bennett challenges the status quo with a jarring, high-accountability framework that has achieved a 100 percent success rate in turning around failing schools. This isn't a book about theory--it's a tactical field manual. Whether it's the soft bigotry of low expectations, the forensic audit of broken systems, or the fifteen-day data cycle, Bennett provides the nonnegotiable standard operating procedures (SOPs) required to save a school on the brink of closure. You won't find "hugs to Harvard" here. You will find a "shoulder-to-shoulder" leadership model that demands excellence from adults so that students can finally win. If you are tired of watching schools fail and are ready to be the "acquired taste" your district needs, it's time to stop talking and start launching. Shake it up.
