This edition is from 1898 American Book Company publication with brick-red colored cloth boards and gilt title as in the listing image. It was edited with notes by Wm. Rolfe. Pages are rippled as if from moisture but there is no odor; pages 174-175 are acid burned due to a newspaper article inserted between the pages. Corners of boards are worn and frayed exposing cardboard. Many pages are dog-earred and a few pages have lost their corners. Previous owners have drawn inside front endpapers, wrote their name and finally wrote a poem on rear flyleaf all in pencil.
