About the Author
Robert Hannigan is a leading authority in cybersecurity and intelligence, whose work has intersected significantly with the ethical, strategic, and policy challenges posed by emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI). As Director of the United Kingdom's (UK) Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) from 2014 to 2017, Hannigan oversaw the agency's transformation in response to evolving digital threats, with a particular focus on cyber defence, encryption, and the implications of machine-driven decision-making in national security. Hannigan is an influential voice in international debates surrounding AI governance, privacy, and the future of security in an increasingly automated world.
