Item description from seller

A very scarce volume, ideal for those with an interest in the industry and trade of the city of Sheffield. A paper read before the Sheffield Literary and Philosophical Society, October 1st, 1889. Written by Arnold T. Watson the president of the Sheffield Literary and Philosophical Society and one of the masters of the Assay Office. An interesting look at the silver trade and industry of Sheffield, in the North of England. A scarce and informative work ideal for those with a connection to the city of Sheffield, or indeed those with an interest in the history of the precious metal trade in Britain. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with a gilt crest to the front board. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities. Front hinge is very light strained. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional handling mark. Near Fine.
