Shigley's Mechancial Engineering Design

The eighth edition of "Shigley's Mechanical Engineering Design" maintains the basic approach that has made this book the standard in machine design for over 40 years. It combines the straightforward focus on fundamentals instructors have come to expect, with a modern emphasis on design and new applications. Key additions to the eighth edition include a major new case study developed to help illuminate the complexities of designing a power transmission and a new chapter on Finite Elements. In addition, the text is complemented by a wealth of learning resources such as FE Exam problems, machine design tutorials, MATLAB simulations, and PPTs of important figures. These assets are presented through McGraw-Hill's ARIS (Assessment, Review, and Instruction System).
