Shimmer: The Chronicles of Maladore

After spending years in hiding, Lady Mariah’s destiny is coming for her. Lord Carnoff has sent men to scour the countryside searching for all eligible young maidens to fulfill the marriage edict. His real goal is to find the one the prophecy speaks of, the one with the mark.

Lady Mariah has been told her entire life she is the chosen one who would save her people from the tyranny of Lord Carnoff. The prophecy says she will lead the people from war to peace, but how could that happen when she lives in seclusion?

As Mariah and her cousin, Bridgett, are ripped from their hiding place in the forest, she must call upon everything she has learned to keep herself and her cousin alive. And find a way to overthrow the tyranny that rules the land and the people she loves.

Will Lady Mariah and Bridgett be another casualty of the marriage edict? Will their hearts and dreams be crushed as so many others have?

How can love find a way when there is so much evil and so much to hide?
