In Shining Armor (Icarus)

Chandler Tuttle has everything a man could want. Almost.

A magnificent voice. International fame. Beautiful women. Luxury hotels. A career as one of the world's great opera singers.

But a terrible secret.

To protect his singing voice, he was castrated right before puberty. It's a time-honored tradition going back 500 years. He should be grateful. Besides making women swoon in the audience, he can keep them satisfied for hours on end, without ever being satisfied himself.

His only true joy in life is surviving late-night sessions of Russian Roulette.

Until he meets Juleng, a beautiful Chinese woman who can give him something better—a sense of purpose.

Rabbit, on the other hand, already has a purpose—acting as bait in sting operations to trap and murder criminals. He's been doing it for years, and is on the fast-track to an early grave.

When Chandler uses his one bullet to save Rabbit, the two form an unlikely friendship in Antigua Guatemala. Both their worlds are turned upside-down, and a whirlwind of adventure plunges them both into intrigue and treachery.

Under the veneer of luxury is a human trafficking and slavery that gives Chandler another use for his gun.

But when his back’s against the wall, he may have no choice but to call in the favor of the life he saved.

Alexander Ferrar is the nom de plume of the great Baron Meinchaupf von Richterschmitz, retired supervillain and rightful heir to the throne of Zenda, who has abdicated and retired to La Antigua Guatemala where his restaurant, art gallery, and exotic ice cream company distract him from his dreams of world domination. He is also the author of Heresy, a series of crime fiction novels, the sword-and-sorcery comedy Saga of the Beverage Men, the Icarus trilogy, and the forthcoming Memoirs of a Swine.
