Shirley Holmes and the Case of the Raven's Eye

Shirley Holmes, the great niece of the world's first consulting detective, Sherlock, has the quick-witted, deductive mind of her uncle, but the life of most other small town twelve-year-olds, including middle school homework, weekly chores, and staying two steps ahead of the class bully. Together with her best friend Carson, she works the occasional case to find a lost belonging or solve a problem for one of their schoolmates.

All that changes, though, when the Raven's Eye--the largest black diamond ever discovered--is stolen, and Shirley sees her chance to step up into the big leagues. But finding the diamond won't be easy. The crime scene is way too light on evidence, and no one believes a couple of kids will be any real help in uncovering the hidden trail left by professional jewel thieves. Refusing to give up until they solve the case, Shirley and her reluctant partner must race against the clock while avoiding adult interference to follow the twisted path of clues that will lead them back to the Raven Eye, very real danger, or maybe even both.
