Shooting Notes and Comments: A Book Containing Matters of Interest to Sportsmen (Classic Reprint)

Explore how factory loading and rigorous testing delivered reliable cartridges and safer shooting.

The book explains why Kynoch led the way in factory-loaded ammunition. It shows how automated loading reduced human error and how performance is built from linked parts—cases, wads, powder, and the gun—managed together under one roof. Read about the shift from hand loading to an integrated system focused on consistent results across guns and climates.

Besides the history, you’ll see how extensive testing shaped practical guidelines for loads, velocities, and recoil. The text covers how measurements, records, and real-world trials helped create uniform, dependable ammunition that shooters could trust in the field and at the range.

• How automatic loading minimizes errors and standardizes charges
• How testing the history of every component informs the final load
• How velocity, pattern, pressure, and recoil are optimized for reliability
• How factory-loaded cartridges differ from hand-loaded varieties in practice

Ideal for readers interested in firearms history, ammunition manufacturing, and the evolution of shooting safety.
