Reprinted with the permission of the 13th Airborne Division. Large octavo 31x23cm, brown boards illustrated with unicorn shoulder patch, map endpapers, 207 unpaginated leaves (414pp). No dustjacket, corners sharp, spine a tad sunned, interior fine. The 13th Airborne Division (United States) was the fifth airborne division to be activated during the World War II. Commanded by Major General Eldridge Chapman it was officially activated in August 1943 at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, remaining active until February 1946, but never saw combat. The division's shoulder patch is a winged unicorn in orange on an ultramarine blue, unicorns being associated with virtue, courage and strength. Seller Inventory # 260
